Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong place but I'm a LPN bridge student who will be graduating soon and I'm hoping to work in the ICU for a couple years and apply to this program. It's definitely my top choice, can someone give me any advice or tips? I am interested in PICU or peds cardiac ICU, does anyone here know if they accept peds experience, or should I aim for adults? My cumulative GPA will be about 3.6 when I'm finished, I appreciate any and all input. Good luck to you all who are embarking on this journey!
I would definitely aim for adult ICU and get a few years under your belt prior to applying. Sometimes it is difficult to land an adult ICU position right out of school, but that should be your goal. Don't settle on the first job offer because you are worried you won't find the one you really want. The jobs are out there. Once you get settled in your new position, look ahead and take note of CRNA requirements and application dates. When you feel the time is right for you start your journey begin working on the requirements. Time moves fast. Wishing you all the best in your nursing career. Good Luck!
