Opening a thread for those applying for FGCU CRNA 2026. Anyone else applying?

I know some applicants with superior gpas, test scores and excellent work experience. They have all the certs and letters of rec etc. I mean they are top candidates. Then you see people with far less get accepted. When the person tells you they did not bomb the interview it makes you really wonder what they are looking at in the selection process in a 15-20 minute interview.
You just have to stay positive and do your best.
Very true. I think that ppl get really caught up in having all of the things they're looking for, too, but forgetting that there are hundreds of applicants and they all do as well. So how do you stand out?
AY662 said:I did not receive an interview, which I believe is due to being one class short of my BSN (my capstone). I figured I would give it a shot with the promise that I would be able to present a degree-bearing transcript by September 10th, but it seems like having the BSN by July 31st is a hard requirement.
I have around a 3.5 cumulative GPA
A's in Gen-Chem I + II, O-Chem I+II
318 GRE (162 V, 156Q), 4.0 writing
7 years of total ICU experience.
2 years staff at a major US hospital's CVICU with ECMO, VAD, IABP experience
2 years of well-rounded travel ICU experience (COVID, MICU, TICU)
2 years as a contract nurse at my first CVICU job (no devices this time)
Current staff MICU nurse
You seem like an excellent candidate. You'll get into a program for sure

I think you just can't give up when rejected because you likely are a standout in your own way, but maybe not this cycle.
Thank you. I really tried to put a lot of effort into the GRE because I was out of school for so long, and I figured I needed some proof that I am still able to study and take tests--not that I believe the GRE is a real reflection of how well you will do as a CRNA. My Gen Chems and O Chems were from 7-8 years ago. I am retaking Gen Chem I online through UNE for some other CRNA programs which require a chem within the last 5 years. Also, I have read the posts from previous years, and it seems like everyone who posted that they received an interview posted within a 2-day window. Maybe there were some people who got an interview outside of that window and didn't post about it, but it seems like they were sent within a single week based on previous years' posts.

WOW! Congratulations. I can't believe they offered you an interview without a complete BSN. I know you are working on it, but your application wasn't complete by the deadline. I thought they were so strict about that.
So exciting, when is your interview date?

It was something I asked the coordinator, graduate school admissions, and nursingCAS. FGCU (nursing side) told me that it's unlikely, but as long as my nursingCAS gets submitted, it will make it in front of the committee. NursingCAS support told me that even without my degree, the application should go through, because they did not verify degrees for this particular application, only those four required classes. I emailed them a screenshot of my final grade because I completed the class a few weeks early, so maybe that had something to do with it? Looking at September 12th

You have solid resume. Your time is coming after you get that BSN.
If you don't mind me asking did you take OChem I and II online?
