Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) CRNA 2022 Application

Published

Hi guys, applying at FGCU and just wanted to keep in touch with the others applying as well. I know this is a bit early since the deadline is not until September.

From what I remember FGCU will have you sign a contract that you won’t work during the duration of the program. Now, this was from word of mouth from someone that went there I would say at least 5 years ago and I don’t know how correct my memory is (it’s been a few years since the conversation). I don’t think they did the online/blended courses at that time either so circumstances may be different now that many classes have turned to full time online. If you get a chance to ask in your interview please let us know. I’m sure either way it will be discouraged but that’s different than a big fat “no way”. Not having our income for three straight years is going to be very difficult, even with loans.

Is the first and second semester online? Or just the first?

@FutureCRNA1927 that is what I’m wondering! I don’t know if we are allowed to work at all but can’t find info on it anywhere or know anyone current SRNAs to ask

I know people in other programs that were able to work 2-4 shifts a month during the first semester if it was online. But I don't remember in the open house if they stated exactly how much is online.

I can ask but my interview won't be til the last day ?

In the open house they said no.

I had my interview and no, no clinical questions were asked. It was kind of similar to the questions you might be asked in a job interview.

Thank you so much for sharing!! ?

Hey guys!! We're almost there. Hope people who've had their interviews already, hope it went well. Good luck to us!!

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR INTERVIEWS! Hoping we hear back tonight or early tomorrow! Fingers crossed everyone

I’m not sure if we would hear that quickly. I did ask what the timeline might be for decisions when I interviewed and she said it would likely take a couple of weeks after the last interview day to put together the cohort. I saw in the thread last year that it seemed the decisions were made quickly and people were hearing right after the last interview day though. Maybe they didn’t plan on accepting me though and didn’t want me to hold my breath ?. If anyone on here gets accepted please let us know.
