Do you think Florence Nitingale is the mother of modern nursing if so why????
One of my friend who is a nurse in uk told me that what the story hearing about florence nightingale is not that much true....dear uk nurses could you please clarify me these doubts??

aww feel like a fraud, not from the UK but born there! lived there for a few short months!
I heard she was a crabby lady that treated her 'girls'' badly, that did very little nursing as such - sorry no reference, we had this question as well at uni and have certain views on her after researching and reading different perspectives from respectable authors.
How about you give your version first, why and wherefore's and then that can bring about discussion!!
Thats what professional nurses are suppose to do in academic rigour, do your own research, come to some conclusions with arguments and then open it up for discussion, well thats what they taught us and thats what we do and I am sure nursing education in the UK teaches this as well.
