Hi, I'm a med/surg RN w/ a couple yrs experience moving out West w/ an OR RN here soon, and have much interest in No. AZ. Can anyone tell me how the nursing is @ Flagstaff Medical Center or Verde Valley Medical Center? Ratios for med/surg floors; do they have techs/cna's? How's the pay, mgmt, call-time for OR? Thanks in advance!

I have not heard any good things about the environment at FMC for nurses.

I have never heard a good thing about FMC from any nurse that has worked there. About 3 years ago before I was a RN I worked at VVMC as a PCT. They seemed to pay the RN's descent, and it really wasn't all that bad. But, you don't want to live in Cottonwood. FMC and VVMC are owned by the same company. There are some people who I work with here in Tucson that worked at FMC and they said it was so bad that they returned to Tucson at the hospital I work. I think in general, the management sucks and is very horrible. I asked the very same question you did several months ago to see if anything has changed, but I got some private messages saying how bad it was. I love Flagstaff tho. If you can put up with 3 days working there, it may be worth it, just to live in Flagstaff.
