Hi everyone!
I'm not sure if there is another thread for FIU's 2014 generic BSN program, but I figured I'd make one. I just wanted to see if there was anyone else who applied? I finished applying about a week ago and I was hoping maybe someone in the program could give us some advice or insight on how they like the program.
Thanks! And good luck everyone!!
I got accepted to FIU today and was already accepted to Nova @ Kendall. I am doing the Baptist Scholars application now so I will wait and see. Would be hard to pass up free tuition and an almost guaranteed job in today's economy. That being said, I heard Nova's program starts you up in clinical's after the first semester for hands on, whereas FIU isn't until the end? Anyone know why FIU isn't granted the Baptist scholarships? Thanks and congratulations to all those accepted!

At first I thought the baptist scholarship was only for private universities (Barry/Nova), but I know MDC grants the baptist scholarships as well. I wish FIU did! You would think they'd rather pay off less loans through FIU
Yep, at Barry they only give you 4,000 per semester which is equivalent to 20,000 for the whole program. If I chose to go to Barry I would of been better off taking the scholarship the school gives you based off your GPA. And I agree, I didn't like the idea of having to be committed to a specific job for 3 years.

Forget about nova....nova is 3x more expensive than fiu, and it takes 27 months to get your bsn, which is more than two year. Fiu offers a bsn track that is affordable and it takes 5 semesters of hard work....I personally think fiu beats nova hands down. Come to think about it, aside from miami dade college... All the other school charge you a arm and a leg including um, Barry, and nova just to get your bsn.
