If anyone has applied to this program in the past or has advice comments etc that would be greatly appreciated pls!!!

i was accepted into the EDIN program at NYP cornell and i heard back the day after my interview. although a friend from my school got an email invitation to an in person interview the same day i got my offer, so i'm not exactly sure how that worked since I assume pretty much no one turns this offer down. she didn't end up getting it tho. anyone else get the ED residency or the EDIN position?

One of my friends from Texas got into the EDIN program at NYP Cornell and she said her grades weren't as good as you would expect.

My grades "weren't the best" either. I had a cumulative 3.34 GPA. however my resume was really unique and I had a lot of things on there that made me stand out as a candidate and I used as focal points during my interview! I think they really do have a holistic approach when looking for candidates which really worked out in my favor. Also, the recruiter told me that 800 people applied and they interviewed 24 people for 4 spots in the ED residency. Last year they interviewed 19 people for 4 spots and then made 4 additional offers for EDIN. I hope that helps :) did you have any other specific questions?

Thank you so much for your replies!! That is a very good GPA nursing school s so difficult and the grading system in undergrad is not fair, it works well for those who are good test takers, but often those work the hardest don't always do the best. Anyways how was your experience in the program with your cohort and how would you rate the program in terms of your experiences. Did you do different rotations to give you well-rounded skills?

of course! when i was applying i had tons of questions so feel free to ask away :) but unfortunately i can't help with that just yet because i don't start the program until august because i just graduated! are you interested in applying?

Oh my god yes I am. I graduate in December and love nyp and Columbia especially. I had an internship last year at Columbia medical center and I loved every minute of it. Furthermore, I have an internship this summer at MSK at the bone marrow transplant unit

Also this might be a lot to ask but are you getting a decent salary or is cut in half since you're in residency?

That's awesome! I've never been to the Columbia campus but have heard great things. A friend from my school actually works on that unit at MSK :) I hope you have a good experience! Do you want to do oncology? And nope, we get paid the full time RN salary during the residency!

I am not sure yet, but I am excited about it. That's good to hear that the salary is the same as being a rn which is pretty high from what I have heard. Thank you for answering all my questions!

Hi does anyone remember the timing for when you received an interview/offer for this program? I just applied for the 2020 residency!
