First week of class wasn't what I expected.

Nursing Students Male Students

Published

Alright, this is my first post. I'm new to this so if I make any social web faux pas I ask to be excused. I was kicked out of my Nursing program the first week due to...irreconcilable differences between the instructor and I. I simply cannot imagine spending 2 years being taught by a woman who seems to have no passion for the field of Nursing. Any recommendations of good Nursing schools in New York State?? Thanks so much, and Take care.

are you gonna tell your patients to man up? yea, I read right through you. There is always room for improvement. I think you are not one for constructive change. After all, we teach and set examples for others to make therapeutic changes in their lives. Nursing instructors who are short, act disgusted, have no patients, close their office door, and yell, need to be taken out of teaching nursing.

I'm having difficulty understanding how you got kicked out of school. Just disagreeing with an instructor and/or her/his teaching method doesn't seem to me to be grounds for being kicked out of nursing school. That said, you should in the future try to avoid getting into disagreements with instructors. She/he holds your future in their hands, you have to remember that. If you must have some disagreement do so in private. Though it's better to bite your tongue, say to yourself whatever and try and let it go. Easier said than done. I do however agree that abusive, cruel, or incompetent instructors should be let go and the good instructors stay.

But you see I did not get kicked out of the nursing program. I am just expressing my views as you are.

First of all I believe that my life is in the hands of God, not some nursing professor. I do attend a Christian based nursing program, and I believe this makes a difference.

Now, when these nursing instructors want to have big heads and big egos, they could very well be eliminated from teaching, especially if God makes a way for people to attend the perspective college.

At the college I attend, the instructors are wonderful.

Just pray for the right nursing school. It does not have to be the nursing school in your area. God provided for me to go to another state, about an 8 hour drive from where I was living. Now, I live here. God moved me, and placed me where he wants me. :yeah:God provided me with a $9000.00 dollar academic scholarship at this Christian based private college, and it is a beautiful place, tucked back in the eastern states-in the mountains, and it is awesome.

Perhaps there is some confusion here. The majority of my post was directed at the OP. The last line was in response to your post. Sorry for any confusion.
