This is just a little update on how my first quarter went (If anyone cares :) )
I have just completed my first quarter of prereqs last Wednesday and I'm so excited! This quarter I was taking Human Anatomy with Lab, Critical Thinking, and Contemporary Moral Problems (for honors gen ed, not prereq), and I'm happy (and VERY relieved) to say I got straight A's!!
I was definitely surprised to see I had gotten an A in Anatomy. Before the final I had a 90 percent in the class, and in order to keep it at an A I was going to have to get a 110/125 on the final (which was mainly nervous system, reproductive, eye, ear, and embryology), so I was expecting a B+ or MAYBE an A-, but it turns out I got 111/125 on the final and squeaked by with an A! So anyone struggling in Anatomy/Physiology/A&P, just know there IS hope!
I was also lucky and got to take Chemistry at my university during my senior year of High School thanks to a grant program they were doing, so that's out of the way! I also got Stats out of the way by taking AP Stats and passing the exam with a 4.
So right now my prereq grades & plans are:
Stats: AP (not counted in GPA)
Chem (4): A
Chem Lab (1): B
Anatomy (5): A
Critical Thinking: A
Comm (5): WNTR - easy A
Eng (5): WNTR - easy A
Micro (5): WNTR - B+ worst case scenario
Physio (5): SPR - B+/A- worst case scenario
Physio Lab (1): SPR - Hoping for A/A-
I'm hoping to get admitted for Fall 2015 (my school allows you to apply with any number of prereqs in progress, as long as you finish by June).
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging. I just don't usually do this well, so this just reaffirms for me that this is what I'm supposed to be doing and I feel like I've proven to myself that I really want this. I'm just generally excited about the whole thing and wanted to share it with people who could understand (it seems most non-nursing majors don't truly understand/appreciate the difference between an A- and an A).
I hope everyone else had/is having a good term as well!
Congratulations! You and I are in the same boat. I'm finishing up my last semester of pre-reqs in the spring, then I'm applying to the nursing program in May! I'm wishing you the best of luck!
