First nursing job

Hello ALL

I am curious. How long did it take to get your first nursing position after passing NCLEX and becoming licensed? Also, did your first nursing position rersult from a resume, on-site application, job fair, etc.? THANKS!!

I started sending out resume's just before I graduated nursing school. I found job openings at the hospital I wanted to work on. I also sent out my application for NCLEX the day I graduated to jump start that process. I was interviewed and offered the job pending my passing boards. I started work about 7 weeks after I graduated. I took boards about 5 weeks after I graduated. In GA, you can go online and see if you passed way before you get your notice in the mail.
