First failure, sad sad day

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

For the first time I failed an exam I failed the muscle lab exam It was really hard for me. I was so confused when looking at the models. I had a really solid high B in the class and now have an 88. To me that is not good. I am used to much better. My average was a 90%, and I was well on my way to an A. I guess it is still possible but I will really have to work hard. It in a way discouraged me. Will my misunderstanding of this particular body system doom me in any more advanced classes? If anyone could enlighten me please feel free to do so.

Thanks:bluecry1:

suppose to mean move on.

On Mars it's simple like that I guess.

On Venus on the other hand emotions need to be expressed, tears shed, hugs gathered and chocolate needs to be devoured before we can get to "Next" ;)

Amen to that!

Heck, even if tears or emotions aren't involved, chocolate always helps the healing process.

Anyhoo, I wouldn't fret too much about one test. If you still have an 88 in the class, you're doing just fine. Hopefully once you go over more anatomy like blood vessels, other structures that interact with/run across/attach to those muscles it will reinforce in your mind where they are and what they do, and if those muscles appear again on the final, you'll have a better frame of reference for them.

A Hershey's kiss a day keeps the shrink away...I would simply die without chocolate ;)

Our muscle test was harder because the test was on PowerPoint and you could barely tell what some of the muscles were. I like hands on like the bones test.

God Bless,

I am in A&P now and we take our muscle exam on 5/3. I agree that these muscles are hard to get a grasp on, esp. since we have to know action, origin, and insertion! Personally, I stink at the anatomy memorization stuff and feel much more confident in the conceptual physiological material.

I have a mid-B in the class. I am usually an "A" student except for this class and chemistry, which are B's. As long as you are doing the best you can do you are succeeding. Like others have said, this is a hard class. There are quite a few in my class that are there for the 2nd time taking this class and are failing again :uhoh21:

Hang in there!

Well, when I take a muscle quiz from one of the given links on here, I do ok since I can actually look at the name and where it goes, I learn more that way then trying to memorize muscles in my head, it just gives me a headache trying to do that rather than learning where they actually go and being able to match them up. Here is what I am using if your teacher uses models, its pretty good.
