Hi Hollykate,
So far, it's going great! I have been surprised at how great the staff is, and how easy it was to get adjusted to the hospital. I think the key for me was that I went from a Level one Trauma Center to a really small place, so the patients I am seeing are not very complex. I do get a little ocnfused by the antiquated admissions process, but everyone seems to really want to help me out which is nice! I'm really happy about how its all working out.
suzanne,
are you a resident of CA? or are you giving up the tax free stuff to stay that long?
i will probably go to a hospital in Anaheim, but i also got an offer from San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning. so, we'll see. i want to spend the winter somewhere warmish.
glad to hear another first timer having a good experience, because there seem to be a lot of unpleasant ones out there.

Not a resident of California............
Yes, I'm still having a good time, though the hospital leaves a little to be desired...I've been asked to extend or come on permanent which I think is a good thing (Yes?? No??)
and I'm getting ready to arrange my next contract, somewhere colder (ha ha) for the winter (Pays nicely, and close to family!)

Well, I'm pretty excited, I got my first travel contract today. I'm a bit worried as the manager seemed overly excited that I was coming (and within the week...which was when she started to seem excited.) but Hopefully it will go alright! It's not too far from my last place of employment, so it isn;t a glamorous location. BUT, its a start So, thanks to those who have offerred advice and support... :wink2: :wink2:
