Fingerprinting for Cali RN license

Does anyone know if I can just go to the local FBI office (There is one in Jacksonville, FL) to get the finger printing card and have them do it there to mail in with my application? I requested it from the Cali BON over 3 weeks ago and has never arrived in the mail. Do I need to submit the application and the finger printing card at the same time or can they be mailed separately? Any other suggestions for speeding up the process on getting my license by endorsement in California?

Thanks,

Ned, any housing suggestions for Santa Rosa?

I have applied for California state endorsement license. My question is where do we send the finger print card to. The web site gives information on finger printing and talks about submitting, but never gives address. There is an address for finger printing if you are renewing from out of state with the hard copy. I could not find any information regarding address for hard copy to be sent. If anyone has this information, I would greatly appreciate it. I called office, but automatic voice hung up on me because too many callers holding. I sent an email, and have no idea how long they will take. thank you

You have to send it to the BRN. They will send it to CA DOJ within a week. If you can, doing Live Scan in CA can save several weeks to several months. Lots of horror stories about DOJ being unable to read hard cards and then silence from the BRN about the need to repeat cards. A couple of agencies, Valley and American Mobile, will pay a round trip air for you to do that. You are supposed to do your next assignment with them, but I've talked to several travelers who did not. But good karma to pay them back for their investment.
