  1. AAs are not capable of practicing independently and never will. PERIOD. Doesn't matter what you say or how you feel about it. CRNAs CAN and DO practice without a physician anesthesiologist in 49/50 states. Live with it.
  2. AAs don't understand and never will because they are not independent practitioners and never will be. ALL APRNs, including CRNAs, are trained to function as independent practitioners. AAs are not premed. it is not a requirement. They can have a degree in basket weaving and then take a few science courses and get accepted into school. AAs future also depends on physician anesthesiologist being around in the future so of course they are going to suck up to them.
  3. The title of the article is misleading. In no way are CRNAs trying to use the title of anesthesiologist alone, but are using the descriptor/title of NURSE Anesthesiologist. The title explains itself especially when the physicians changed their title to PHYSICIAN Anesthesiologist. And anesthesiology is not just a medical speciality. It is simultaneously a NURSING speciality and was a nursing speciality before it was a medical specialty.
  4. Ned, any housing suggestions for Santa Rosa?
  5. Just an update, I got my Cali license at exactly 6 weeks from turning in the paperwork and fingerprinting. And I did not turn in any extra transcripts. I'm heading to Santa Rosa, Ca in 2 weeks!
  6. I submitted mine in person and they only wanted transcripts from My nursing schools... Just FYI....
  7. Just an update, I flew to San Fran last week, did the Livescan l, and got my application turned in! :) Now time to play the waiting game!
  8. Yeah I understand. They do offer 13 week assignments too. I got my work and school schedule worked out where I can leave 2 weeks early in order to take a 13 week assignment. There are a lot more options for 13 weeks than the shorter ones.
  9. I've heard Nursechoice is good for short assignments and was recommended to me by a coworker. I plan on using them for my first assignment this summer.
  10. On the application, it only has enough room to write for 1 school. I received my ASN and BSN degrees. Which one should I list?
  11. Your awesome! I'll look for that message board that you mentioned as well, but I think you covered everything.
  12. Thanks for the great tips. I am potentially thinking about flying out there. If I do, can I hand deliver my application to the BON? I am looking to start my travel assignment the first week of May. Do you think there is enough time between now and beginning of April for it to get processed by mailing the fingerprints? How do they let you know you got approved? Just send you the license and it shows up in your mailbox one day? Last but not least, do they need my application first before my transcripts get there or can I go ahead and order those to get sent?
  13. They won't answer the phone or email me back. I believe you though. Thanks for your help!
  14. So I still need to pay the $49 fee then when I send in my application? And it still is going to take the longer amount of time, just if I do it this way, then I don't have to worry about them rejecting it because it is smudged is what you are saying? But If I wanted to, I could fly out to California and do it there to do it the quick electronic way without being a resident?
