Hello all, I am intersted in working in Hattiesburg. I am in my last semester of nursing school in hawai graduating with a BSN by the end of this year, and plan on moving to mississippi. I just wanted to know how hard it is for a new grad to get a job in forrrest general, wesley, or any hospitals in the area.
Also, should i begin contacting nurse recruiters at these hospitals for a potential career?
Thanks for all your help

Let me know how your girlfriend likes USM's nursing program. I started another thread about USM's nursing school. I just graduated from Mississippi State (GO STATE! GO STATE!) As you can tell, I'm am from Bull Dog country! LOL Anyway, I decided to go into nursing and I have chosen USM as one of my options for nursing school. Anyway, if you can get a word from your girlfriend of how she likes/dislikes the program, please share.

Starting pay for hospitals in the Jackson area is 18.50 for new grads. I do not know about Madison County Medical Center, but they are owned by the same people that own River Oaks, Central Mississippi, and Rankin which is now known as Crossgates River Oaks. Those three start new grad RNs at 18.50.
