hi..
i am an Msc Nurse (specialized in psychiatric nursing)from India with one and a half years of teaching experience. i had almost a year of teaching experience before i did my PG. now i am planning to go to canada because my husband is there and really confused about finding a job. i have received my eligibility for writing CRNE. but since i have only 6 months of clinical experience i am not so confident that i will get a job even if i pass CRNE. is there any other option for me? like going for teaching nursing as i did before or anything else.. or should i first get into a clinic or old age home and get experience before working in a hospital setting. please give me an advice on what i should do???
Is it difficult to find a job as a registered nurse in Canada in general, or just immigrants? How are nursing salaries in Canada compared to the national poverty level? I've read on the CNA website that Canada, like the United States is experiencing a nursing shortage, yet I read many posts here on allnurses of Canadian nurses having difficulty finding employment. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Where do you currently live? It's a well known fact that nurses are unionized and make better than many workers with similar educations.
