Financing Accelerated Nursing School

Hey Everyone,

I need the advice of students who are going through & have gone through my current situation. At the moment I am feeling grateful & overwhelmed because I got accepted into an accelerated nursing program. What makes the opportunity even better is that the tuition for the entire program is approx 22K. Even though that is a ridiculously low amount for an accelerated nursing program I will not have to account for many expenses like relocating, books, food, rent, car, car insurance, health insurance & any other expense you can think of. I have prepared by saving 10k which isn't enough and I have been diligently working on scholarship applications, a gofundme page & taking on federal & private loans.

Is obtaining federal loans easy & would I be able to use it for living expenses?

What other advice can you think of to help me be a lil more financially prepared for my journey through nursing school?

Roger that. So from now on we are only to respond to the part of the post that you determine people should respond to? Iif a person posts something then plan on a response. When the OP states they are "diligently working" on a go fund me page then expect a reaction from that action. From someone who was kicked out of his house at 16 and lived on a couch to complete HS then joined the military to pay for college and earned my BSN....begging for money from strangers is beyond the pale.

Everyone does not fit into your mold. Good for the OP that she has a Go Fund Me page. It's simple, she creates the page and those who want to donate can. Your opinion or no one else's really matters. The OP asked a question about student loans and financial aid not whether or not she should create some vehicle as a means to collect money to pay for tuition. While you were couch surfing, someone was paying rent/mortgage, utilities and probably feeding you. How would that be any different than what the OP is doing? You can dismount your high horse now.

It's tough. If you already have a previous bachelors degree, you may hit your max funding. Talk to a counselor about your options to get you through for the year.

If you cant manage, I recommend the ADN from a local CC route and you can work and complete a bridge program later on to be competetive with the BSN.
