Finally turning my application in next month

Published

I'm finally in my final semester of pre-req's and will turn in my application in June. I'm trying to figure out which places to put down, I'd like to get in as soon as possible, but don't want to drive hours to get there. My first choice is MCC, but CGCC is opening in the fall and that would be my first choice since I live in Gilbert. I've thought about Gateway, Scottsdale (anyone doing their accelerated program??? Are there any openings for the March start?), and even Rio. There's just so much varied information out there it's hard to know what's really going on. Are all the programs full for fall '05? Does anyone know how many people are waiting for Spring '06? Is there any way to find out how many openings per college as opposed to how many people are already on the waiting list? I just wish they posted some information so I could make a better informed decision on where to go. I've tried to find out what kind of hours I'll be in school and nobody has really been able to tell me. Is it better to go nights or days? Part-time or full-time? Accelerated, regular or extended? I know it all depends on everyone's situation, but I'm just trying to get some information. Thanks for any help you can give...

Good luck in whatever you decide ! Seems everyone is from the States where I don't have the lowdown on schools but Congratulations on making it through pre-reqs ! :balloons:

If you willing to pay the money, Pima Medical Institute has a program beginning this July..........at their Mesa location.

Hey Calzonan,

I am also applying this summer for th e fall semester at gcc. Gcc is my first choice but from what I have heard from others Fall05 is already full. The nursing department said that I might have a chance to get into the nursing program for spring06 but it's luck. There are other students on the waiting list that come first. Everywhere else people said that there is about a 1 year waiting period but really it's just baised on luck. All you can do is apply and whatever happens happens

They're opening up Chandler Gilbert, I think 40 slots, for Fall from what I've heard. Hopefully that will take some of the extra people off the Spring list that applied in Oct and March. Keep in touch and let me know if you get in and what you hear :)

Calzonan,

For sure,I'll let you know what happens. I know that Phoenix Baptist Hospital has a nursing program but you have to sign a contract to work for them 3 years after you get your RN. Which in a way is good cuz atleast you will have a job, but for that program I am one class short so thats why I'm not going there. Also, if you hear anything let me know as well. Are you taking any summer classes? All I need is BIO201 AND 202 which I am taking during summer 1+2, so this summer I'm not really gonna have a life, but it's all good. Talk to you later, take care, Angie
