Finally Finally going back....

Published

I have been in and out of nursing school since graduating high school. I have always left because the wait list was too long or I was burnt out or I was having another child. This time... NO MATTER WHAT... I'm finishing sticking it out. I have a degree in medical office management, was a medic and now I'm back on the waiting list for nursing school. It looks like it's 6-7 quarters long and I don't have much to complete that isn't actual nursing classes, so I am also working on my bsn required classes.

I am currently, and have been, working in a hospital and I am getting rather jealous seeing more and more new grads come out that is YOUNGER than me! It's now or never. I've told myself YOU WILL do it this time or just drop it!

Anyone else a nursing school drop out and now coming back?

No, but I just wanted to tell you that I am proud of you for sticking with it through all the bumps in the road and impressed that you are making the most of your waiting time by taking the BSN pre-reqs. I think that is admirable, rather than complaining about the wait it like most people do.

It's too bad you can't just go straight in to a BSN program. I too will eventually be doing an RN to BSN program but I only have 1 semester till the nursing program starts so I cannot do my BSN pre-reqs until after I graduate.

I'm not in the exact same boat as you, but I'm FINALLY going back to school! I completed my Associates in Business in 1998, but haven't done anything with the degree. Fast forward to today - I'm now a mommy to eight (four forever children, two hopefully forever children, and two foster children), am now married, and am now 32 years old. *sigh* I decided that it's time to do something for myself. I enrolled at Ivy Tech to complete my Associate in Nursing. :) I have five pre-req classes and will "hopefully" be enrolled in the 2010 fall nursing program.
