FGCU Nursing Fall 2013 Applicants!

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I just wanted to get a post going for all FGCU School of Nursing Applicants for the Fall 2013 semester.

At minimum, please post your current school, cumulative GPA, and program percentile rank from your TEAS exam.

Many people here are very party party, and unfortunately there are a lot of just scummy people as well. Lots of pills.

I live up about 40 minutes away, but I was barely making it to my 8 am classes. San Carlos isn't the greatest community in the world, but it is so close to FGCU that it is worth it. I've been looking there, and there's actually a 2b/2b duplex with a loft I'm planning to check out next week.

I'm torn between just rooming with a group of already established people, and renting my own place and finding roommates. What's your budget like?

I would like to stay fairly cheap, ~500-600 but I have a place in mind in a 4/4 for 500. I heard that San Carlos has a lot of crime?

Right now I live across from Lee Memorial, and everyone warned us about living where we are. It's been great. We know our neighbors and we are completely isolated from all the craziness that goes on around us.

I lived with a friend in San Carlos, and my mom lives off Three Oaks and neither had any trouble. No matter where you move, check out your neighbors and drive by late at night BEFORE you move.

What are you guys wearing to orientation? I know some programs require you to dress up, but we did not receive a dress code. I was thinking something sort of dressy-casual.

I was thinking that I would wear a maxi-type dress. I want to look presentable, but not overly dressed up. I'm definitely not gonna do the yoga pants and T-shirt (which will probably be my staple outfit for classes on non-lab day)

Does anybody have book information show up for NUR 3145? When i look at the book ordering page it says no information received for this course.

I had the same experience. Hopefully they update it if we do have a textbook for that class.

Only two more weeks....i can't wait to meet my other classmates....i dont know anyone at this school so I am looking forward to the mandatory meeting for all of us nursing students. I am living in Naples if anyone wants to try to car pool. Also i was wondering if anyone knows where to find the uncalendar...i used it at my old school and didn't see one in the bookstore.

I'm really excited too. I have heard that your classmates/clinical groups become family to you, and I am excited for that aspect of school. Plus, I also know no one, so I obviously would likes to make some good friends. I will be commuting from about 30-40 minutes north until I can find a decent place to live.

I am really excited too! I know how hard we have all worked to get here, and it is almost time to start, YAY! I live in Naples and would be interested in carpooling when possible. I live on Livingston Road just a touch north of Immokkalee road. I usually take Livingston the rest of the way up to Bonita Beach Road, so I don't backtrack, and on I-75 for the rest of the drive.
