Hi fellow nurses!

I am a new graduate and just landed my first RN job at a fertility clinic! I am really excited, and had never expected to even get an interview without experience. Are there are other IVF/fertility RN's out there? Maybe you could share some tips for success? I am also taking 2 classes for my BSN bridge...yay.

Thanks!

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Hi! I am I love it. I do procedure room/PACU a few days a month (OR background) But my main job is donor oocyte program.

Hi! I am looking at an opportunity for becoming an egg donor nurse for a fertility clinic. Do you know anything about this position?

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg, Psych, Geri, LTC, Tele,.

I'm not a fertility nurse, but I want to say that the nurses and endocrinologist at my fertility clinic were very kind and helped me immensely through my 2 (unsuccessful) IVF procedures.

Their care was so different from what I had been used to at my HMO. They really opened my eyes and heart to how good practitioners treat pts. 😀

I worked in a university faculty practice GYN and infertility office in the early 80s. The first IVF baby was born in England in 1978 so it was an exciting time to be in the field. I loved my RN job there. Some of the things we did then have been replaced my newer technologies but the joy in helping assist a person or couple to a achieve a pregnancy after much heartache would not change. There was also much sadness but I loved being part of the process. I left the job when I moved out of state.

Good luck.

I know this is an old thread but I just interviewed at a fertility clinic and I would really love to get it! What was the hiring process for you? Did you hear back right away? How are you liking it?
