Fellow California (LA) RN to start whole travel process with?

I would really like to find a Southern California RN like myself, Los Angeles and surrounding areas (I posted in CA section too). If we know each other before it may go better knowing who we are going with and not alone. This is starting completely from the beginning: researching agencies, applying, moving, going, and so on. Connected at the hip basically, I live alone and am independent so it will not be that bad lol. I am just unsure of going alone, whether lost on how to begin or scared. I am also more quiet and shy so I don't want to end up all alone in new place just counting down the assignment. We can be adventurerers together too. I would prefer a travel buddy similar to myself: first timers, female, 27-early 30s, female, no kids or attachments holding me back here, straight (I don't care if you are), so much more we can talk about. I have my BSN and have been working for almost seven years. I am not sure if I am burnt out or just looking for more in this career. Anybody in this situation like me? This is my last attempt at starting this whole traveling thing, I think =(. Let me know.

Are you not going to travel if you have to go it alone? I wish I had started to travel in my earlier years. I even travel on Vacations by my self. Not my first choice, but I can't get someone to go with me....fine...see ya. I always meet new people and have a great time. You will be just fine. I hope to end up in CA...somewhere in the future. If we ever meet I'm older but I know how to have a ball.

Possibly. I just do not want to go alone, safety reasons and I do not know people in other states.

Well welcome to the life of a traveler, it can get lonely. Its hard to find a travel buddy if you don't know them personally. you just have to take a chance and go at it yourself. You will be stronger that way. don't forget every job you are the new girl so you have to have a thick skin. if you are lucky you can find co workers that are travelers too to travel with. I went to vegas on my first assignment by myself and I am from texas. I met some girls there and we are in florida together now. You just never know. good luck

Hi. I'm definitely interested. I live a couple hours more north of you, but I'm starting the search too. I'm in the age bracket you listed and I am looking into traveling to Texas (around Austin, but would like a job in Round Rock/Georgetown). A travel RN friend of mine recommended two companies thus far. Let me know if you're interested. I am currently on my first assignment, 2 weeks in and it is a little harder than I thought but not impossible! I have never lived alone and after living in the same city my whole life, working on the same unit for 6 years I decided to shake things up a little and begin travel nursing to relocate to Southern California. I have good days and I have lonely days. A travel buddy would be great but don't let it hold you back from the experience. And FYI research the area well. Some areas are crazy expensive to live!!
