Feels stuck

Hi everyone!

I need some advise. I just graduated from a LPN prog and recently passed the board. Now I want to bridge to the RN program here in NY but I don't know where to go. Private schools such as helene fuld scares the hell out of me with their admission process. LaGuardia is out of question because I have 2 degrees there therefore cannot take their bridge. I feel like Im in the dead end:o

hi i recently moved from nyc into miami fl. i had completed my ba in health administration and a aa in health in nyc. plus 2 yrs of bio which are my requirements for the rn. i decide to move to florida because it is a little less of the hassle and expense. the only issue is that i decided to do lpn because i found out that once you become a lpn it is very easy to get in the rn program. if you like check cochran school of nursing in nyc, or bronx community college if all you want is to become a rn right away, but its too may test and waiting list. thats why lpn would be better to get in first.

good luck...

HI there!

Yes I have my LPN degree, because I thought it'd be so much easier to bridge into the RN but it seems like its just the same. ty for the resp.

I'm in the same boat. It is frustrating but I'm determined to get into a bridge by fall of 2007 or I'll just bite it and start my bachelors. Good luck, I feel your pain.

Have you considered on line nursing such as Excelsior? I hear great things about that from others. Did you live in another state? I wish you the best of luck!

That is a consideration...if you already have two degrees, maybe you can transfer some of the credits into a 4 year college to get the bachleor's in nursing. Just food for thought...I really don't know.

Thanks, despite having over 60 credits I have no degree. Wasn't very organized in my approach I'm afraid. I have all the pre-reqs and gen-ed for an AA program but would need to add probably 4 or 5 extras for a bachelors. Gotta do whatever it takes I guess. Wish me luck!

Some states aren't accepting this any longer. In my state I think you had to have been enrolled by last July to be able to sit for the boards.

New York currently accepts this. I don't know if the future will determine a different path for on line courses, but thus far, NYC does accept them; in fact, I have a friend that became an RN last year through this process. I hope that you are able to discover the appropiate course for your goals !

The entrance exam at Helene Fuld NYC is not bad at all. It is a basic test. you should try to apply. I am there now and start chemistry next week and RN in this APril. Good luck
