Congratulations! the hardest part is over! May I ask what were the materials that you have been using during your review?
I will take mine on Oct 1 and really scared on that because SATA and pharm are my weakest points.
Every night before I sleep, I always pray and can't help to cry because I really wish to pass this exam so that I could find a job and to live closer to my mom who is currently battling with cancer. I hope God will listen also to my prayers and make a miracle to happen.
Thank you so much..
We used Saunders comprehensive all through school. So I used the disc and answered a lot of questions. It has over 4000 questions on it. We also used ATI and had access to Nurse Logic (teaches question strategy) and something else that I can not remember the name of and bunches of practice tests available . I spent a little time with a Kaplan stragegy book and took the first five tests on the question trainer. I also used NCLEX 3500 that came with our med surg book. My main stragegy was to answer and read the rationales to as many questions from different sources that I could find. I averaged about 200-300 questions a day for the 11 days I prepared for the test. The only thing I truly studied was Pharm and Labs. Pharm review was definately useful. However I still got plenty of meds I did not know.
Good luck to you!

I took the NCLEX yesterday 8/23 @ 8 am. I could not sleep at all the night before, so when I sat down at the computer I had been up for 25 hrs. Before taking the test, I took one of those 5 hr energy drinks. Probably a big mistake. I had a mini panic attack at question 6. I was having hot flashes, chills, heart palpitaions, and waves of nausea. I thought I was going to vomit right there all over the computer screen.
Luckily, I was able to talk myself through it and made it to question 75. At that point the computer shut off. So I figured I either did really well or REALLY BAD! I got a lot of SATA, a lot pharm, 2 med calc. I would say almost half of the test was an educated guess.
So I went home about 2 hrs from the test site. Logged on seen that delivery was successful and did the PVT. I got the good pop up screen. So I was feeling a little better but, not completely confident in it.
So today, I have been looking at my state BON site and checking still says pending, Pearson Vue says results not ready. Well 2 or my friends from class took the NCLEX today and bless their hearts knew by this evening they had passed. Their numbers are showing up already.
So my question is and I doubt anyone will have a concrete answer to give me so I realize it just your opinion....but do you think that is a sign a failed? Or has anyone ever heard of someone getting results quicker than someone who took the test sooner in the same state? and they both passed?
Uggh!!! this really stinks. I have no idea how they held in together when you had to wait months to find out if you passed. This is ridiculous.
