I hope I am posting this in the right place. Its been awhile since I have been able to post on here. This is my first semester and I have been studying hard. I am taking Algebra I and its hard for me. My teacher told us today that he didn't care if we learned or not he was still gonna get his paycheck. He is going so fast. I told I don't understand the problem and he says get a tutor. I got a tutor. Then when I told him the tutor showed how do the problem different than he was showing us he said I don't care what the tutor told you. Today he gave us a 4 page worksheet to do in an hour. I was confused on the problems and he says use your classnotes. I am about to throw the towel. But my desire to be a nurse is so strong I still keep hanging in there hoping it gets better.

I have a teacher that goes pretty fast, however, he comes in an hour earlier than he has to, and that's the "extra help" hour. Would this guy be willing to do that?

I don't know if this will help you this semester...but oh boy did it help me! I too was confused, and had a teacher and the students buzzing by me so fast I got more confused and frustrated! I quit it after 3 days!
I was able to switch to a distance learning class that used tapes or was broadcasted on a cable channel. I just set up my vcr and taped the classes (you could purchase them too) which were typically late night...and watched them when I could.
The beauty of it was I could rewind my teacher!!! No embarresing questions in class, no asking the teacher to repeat it....it was all on tape and the teacher that did the tape was very good and put everything into detail (infact got a little boring when I started getting the hang of it...so then I could fast forward!!!).
I aced all my maths doing this!!!! Learned at my own pace at my own time...it was wonderful!!!!!
Check into distance learning in your own college. I have told others to do this too and they have thanked me big time! Of course many were afraid they wouldn't fit it into their schedules but all did...it was too easy to fit it in! I use to do it late night when the kids were asleep so I could focus! :).... Or if I missed one, I watched it in the AM or what not! So flexible it was a breeze!
Good luck!

Well now..that's a good idea, Triage!
(I'm done with my math classes tho...)
To the OP...you hang on...do they have a Math Lab where you go to school? Our college does and it's always full of folks just like us who couldn't figure out math if it bit us in the bu**!
