This is my first time involved in fed survey. Is the process the same? Follow med pass etc? We just had state survey a few weeks ago, now fed is here

I've been in one, LTC. The surveyors were cut from a different cloth than the typical state surveyors. It wasn't exactly relaxed, but it was almost as though you weren't aware they were present. They certainly didn't have chips on their shoulders.

I have been through both while working in LTC. We had our state survey and passed with flying colors... so our prize for having no deficiencies on our state survey we got a federal survey. I don't think it was any different than any other survey. Actually if my memory serves me correctly it was more laid back.

:roflmao:.....I get it...NH nursing home......I thought New Hampshire for the state survey....I"m so blonde sometimes I scare myself. Moved to LTC for best responses....

The surveys are similar for the staff but are different for management and the focus is slightly different.

We have the feds at the same time as the state surveyors....yikes! The surveys are ALWAYS worse and the state people give our far more tags with higher scope and severity when the feds are there. The whole process stinks.

State and Feds together is tough. The feds are watching the state, so the state goes the extra mile. :/
