I am less than 2 months away from graduation and I am totally fed up with nursing school. My instructor has turned into the wicked witch of the west, and I feel that I am learning NOTHING!!! We have some pretty stupid assignments that aren't teaching anything, and I feel like all we are doing is busy work. What has happened? Have any of you experienced this??? How did you get thru it? I'm just looking for some advise/encouragement or anything you may have to help me! Thanks!!!
What's your alternative? Drop out...not with 2 months to go. Complain to the dean..never seen that work out.
So, take each day at a time. Tell yourself, I will get through today. All of sudden it will be done. Look at your goal and decide that the wicked witch will not keep you from that goal. :) Come here and vent, because we have all been there at one point.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!
This time of the year is always hard for me in school because of the weather change. LOL Spring is coming, things are warming up, flowers are blooming and I am stuck in a classroom. I notice I get this way every spring. It's hard to get through those last 2 months I think no matter where you are at for school whenever you are close to summer break.
I also think it's harder in a lot of things when you are close to being done, more so then when you are just starting. All 4 of my pregnancies the last 2 months were brutal LOL
Anyway, you have 2 months left, you need to use that are you incentive to get through, count down on the calendar. Think about how all your hard work is almost about to paid off and you will be able to take your boards.
I get irritated when I always see posts about you should be this you should be that, I wish I was in your place. We all have a right to vent, it's not like you are sitting here talking about how much you hate nursing taking a spot for someone that WANTS to be a nurse. So don't let others make you feel guilty that you have reached a road block in your path. Focus on the goal and get there!!!
Lastly, don't even waist time and feelings on someone elses study habits. How they study is their problem, it may help them, it might not, but regardless, it shouldn't be wasted energy from you to worry about them if it is not directly effecting you.
Best of luck on getting through these next 2 months.
Just think about all the people that wish that they were in nursing school and were denied or put on a waiting list and that may give you a different outlook on your situation and you may actually appreciate the fact that you're one of a few chosen that get into a program and then graduate.Count your blessings!
How do you know they didn't jump through hoops to get in nursing school? I was on the waitlist for 3.5 years before my number finally came up. I still get frustrated at times in school. I am very grateful that my number came up and I am very grateful that I am finally in nursing school, but again, that doesn't mean that I have frustrations and have every right to have them? Are you in nursing school currently?

I agree completely...and thanks for the comment! I worked HARD to get into nursing school, so I agree with your comment. Sometimes it does just take venting, and getting some encouraging comments back that lets me know that I can keep doing this for the next 2 months!

Believe me, I am counting my blessings every day! I do appreciate the fact that I am in nursing school, and I worked VERY HARD to get in and to get to where I am. I do think from what I've read on these boards that every nursing student gets upset, burnt-out, or needs to vent at some point during their time in school. Sometimes we just need to vent a little to be able to feel better and move forward!
I think many students are just fed up at the end no matter how long the program is. I did a 14 month accelerated program and there were many days that I just wanted to be DONE!! My school had "writing across the curriculum" so we wrote an incredible number of papers - none of which made me a better nurse! There were other things I didn't enjoy - like care plans- but I DID learn a lot from them (much of which you won't realize til later).
Try to just do the next thing (whatever that is) and then move on. You have to do it to reach your goal - to be a nurse. You have worked hard to get to where you are now. Give yourself a little break now and then even when you have a lot to do. Taking an hour to do something non-school related can do a lot to get you through the end. You can do it! Before long, it will be YOU posing that you got your first RN job - then you will know it was worth it.

When I was in nursing school, the last semester was the most boring. Our main focus was NCLEX questions and such. Yes, it's boring; but you can graduated with your nursing degree, but if you don't pass the NCLEX, than the last couple of years have been a waste of your time. These last two months may be the longest thus far, but in a few short weeks your main focus will be the NCLEX and job interviews...and that's the tough part of nursing school.
