U.S.A. Washington DC

Published

Hi everybody! Just figured I would start a thread for those starting at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in February for the Nurse Residency Program. My name is Laura, and I've been hired into the SICU. Graduating from University of Vermont in December!

Absolutely! It will be nice to have someone in the same situation to discuss things with! Do you want my Facebook link or my number haha??

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

the link would be fine haha id rather you not get randos calling you

Good luck to all of you. I started my residency program in August of this year. So far so good. If there is any specific questions I can answer. Please let me know and I'll do my best!

As for the DC license. They are slow as can be. I had to go up to the DOH one day and then I was granted my temp license the same day. You just have to stay on them so you have it before your start date.

How is everything going for everyone? I just applied and I'm curious about the application process!!

Hello Guys, i'm also going to be Interviewing at hospital for the residency in February. My interview date is on January 19. I initially applied for ED, but the recruiter just told me that ED is filled and the only available positions are some CCU and Neuro ICU and Cadiac IMCs which is quite disappointing. So, for those who have accepted a position starting in Feb, I was curious as to your interview experiences ? what type of questions were you asked? also what is the pay offered? I appreciate it.

Also, if anyone knows what the relocation package that they offer is?

Specializes in SICU/Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU.

Funny moment, I'm a new grad currently on 2NW, started in July - good luck and welcome to 2NW! If you have any questions most of the nurses are really good about teaching and wanting to be helpful! The bridge modules can be a little ...eh, but you'lll gain a lot of skills really quickly on the unit. Good luck and see y'all around!

Hey guys! I made a closed Facebook group for us to ask questions and connect. You can look up "Washington Hospital Center February 2017 Residency" and I'll add you in. Looking forward to seeing you all on February 27th.
