FCCJ SPRING 2010

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I know it is a little early, but anyone plan on applying for FCCJ's spring 2010 program?? If I can get my Nat points up and if I do well in Micro this summer , I will be ready to apply!!!:yeah:Finally!!

Well. Your points and grades are not good enough is not really true. I mean this is really silly. Like childish. Every woman and male who craves to be a nurse as much as I do will do what it takes to reach their goal. This program was not created to be racist, and as far as the Stats goes for minorities..whites..or whoever. RACE does NOT matter when you are working to save children, adults and the elderly lives. This program makes the people who are in form study groups, tutors, cpr certification before getting into the nursing program, job shadowing,..it's a class on top of the 12+ credits you have to maintain. It's not racist because there are people in this program that are already in the nursing program..It's a form of research to see how well minorities can do in the medical field.. nursing is just one of them. So please everyone this website is called ALLNURSES.COM right? So as pre-nurses and nurses we all should stick together to make a difference and a change. It's just sad that I view this as a good experience and my peers view this as discrimination. I stand with a 3.7 gpa average and I did all of that while maintaining my child, a household, working fulltime and going to school fulltime..I work just as hard as anybody esle who wants to be a nurse. Watch people give up because it's too hard and im still sticking through it just like the women who are in the program and those who are trying to get it. I look at it as HEY..THERE's ONE OF US (NURSES) WHO IS ABOUT TO DO WHAT I'LL BE DOING ONE DAY. i show nothing but love and support.

would anyone be willing to help me with registration advice? i am in term 1 and our registration for term 2 takes place this monday, so we have to make decisions quickly.

one of my questions is about clinicals. if you have clinicals on thursday and friday do you spend friday night finishing your careplan? are they due on saturdays? or mondays, when you also have exams?

if anyone is willing to email, call me or pm me, would also greatly appreciate advice on instructors.

happy thanksgiving to you all!

the way mine works is, i have clinicals on tuesday and wednesday. i pick up my patient on monday, do up a care plan, except for the nursing dx. the instructor looks them over and on wednesday we term in the completed copy. i think the syllabus says it's due the 2nd day of clinical. i would pick watts ( this is her last year) for psych, barrett (for ah1 lecture) and mebane (ah1 clinical).

In AH1, care plans are due 2nd day of clinical---so if you had clinical thur/fri, it would be due friday.

Hope this helps!! And, good luck!

c2brn7 and llisa003, thank you so much for the info. I appreciate it!

Hello Term 4 Nursing Students,

Are there any Medical Terminology exams after Term 1? I am headed into Term 2. Are there any Medical Terminology tests in Terms 2, 3 or 4?
