FCCJ SPRING 2010

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I know it is a little early, but anyone plan on applying for FCCJ's spring 2010 program?? If I can get my Nat points up and if I do well in Micro this summer , I will be ready to apply!!!:yeah:Finally!!

jkvanso the other two schools in Jacksonville JU and UNF only accept Summer and Fall applicants. The deadline for JU is Dec 1 and the deadline for UNF is Jan 15. If you get accepted into the program you will not have to worry about payment of classes until we actually register for the classes for the program so the normal deadlines you see for us unless you are thinking about back up plan classes does not apply. I also have financial aid so my classes are covered regardless. The first day to use book vouchers is Dec 14 so I assume that will be around the time we have our orientation. Also worksource will pay for classes, books, childcare expense etc once you get your acceptance letter! So as soon as you get call and make an appointment!!!

futureRNMom, do you know how worksource works with financial aid? Can you still get aid AND help from worksource? Just wondering!!

I believe so, I have had two cousins that have been in FCCJ program and they received assistance on top of their financial aid money. I also have 1 cousin at UNF and another at Concorde nursing program and they have financial aid on top of the worksource grant. But they will not assist you until you have your acceptance letter

Hey all,

I went ahead and paid for my Spring class yesterday. I will be able to drop the class if I get into the program and get a refund on my money. So keep that in mind if you don't want to lose a class that you are thinking about for the Spring. I know it may take a little time to get that money back but to me, not losing a seat just in case, is worth it.

Hope that helps some. :) I also wanted to say that I can believe it when it is said between 400 and 500 applied. Last semester I think our total applying was something like 668.

Fall semester always have the highest number of applicants. Spring is always usually lower.... Doesn't matter just as long as 202.28 points guarantees me one of those 144 seats lol

Future,

My friend that is in the Fall semester pulled out her application information from last Spring and told me it was 144 seats then. She said they tend to work in increments of 12. So they could fill only 132 or add 12 to make 156. I am hoping for the same or more and not less! :) She also told me more people apply for the Fall as well. I wonder why that is? What is the difference do you think?

I think as long as you are in one of the priority counties with 202.28 you should be in very easily. If I get in, I will see you at orientation. :)
