hello! are there any fccj students applying for the RN program beginning spring 2008? the deadline to apply is october 1st and im wondering what kind of points other people have. im currently enrolled in mcb2010, so i don't have the points for that, but my total prerequisite points are 90, and i just took my NAT...
academic aptitude 58
reading comprehension 31
natural science 75
total 164, multiplied by .64, is 104.9
so, if im doing this right, i have 194...
i've read on here that the cut-off is usually 180-185. is there a chance i won't get in with a 194? thoughts? opinions? feelings?
thanks for your help!

judging by everyones total points... 'm probably in for a huge disappointment. i'm applying with only 184 points under my belt and everyone in here seems to have 200+. i know fall 2007's cutoff was 179. i'll be crossing my fingers and toes for the next few weeks! good luck to everyone applying for SPRING 2008!

I am also applying for the fccj spring 08. I heard that for the past 6 semesters, 183 pts have been the cut off. I think you're in great shape. I'm applying with 202 pts and really hope to get in.
Yikes... that's cutting it real close! :/ haha Thanks for the response though! Hopefully I'll see you next term :)

Hey Guy!
I'm applying for the nights/weekends (only 24 seats) program with only about 185/186 points. I hope to be getting in too! I submitted my application Aug 1st. It's such a long time to wait.
It does seem like forever. I applied just last week and they said 6 weeks from now (mid-nov.). My bf is a 4th term night/wkend student. Its a good schedule especially those that work days, and your classes are at the deerwood campus, while i opted for day/wkdays schedule and will be making that long drive to the north campus. A friend of mine got into last spring's program with 185, so you should have a good way in. If not, dont give up and reapply. A close friend who graduated last April and passed her boards the following month had applied twice into the program before getting in and made it all the way :) Lots of success stories out there.
This Won't Hurt Much

I am planning to start in the spring term, too...hopefully nights/weekends....I have 202 points. Has anyone hear more specifically about how many hours are recommended to study each day? All I hear is, "I study all the time! That's all I do anymore!" Lovely. But what's that mean???
AGL384... Thanks for the encouragement. I'm thrilled to hear that FCCJ has the night/weekend classes at Deerwood. I think that the communication with North Campus is not good and it's quite a drive for me. It's amazing how a couple of classes I took years ago made the difference in my total points. I'm still not giving up. I am currently a stay at home mom with a 2year old and 2 month old. That could have been why my NAT score wasn't so hot. I took it 9 months pregnant. Anyway.... I think good professors make the difference and I'm looking into that now. I had a pretty bad Micro professor and I'm still a little bent out of shape about it. If I had an A in her class rather than a B I wouldn't be sweating it right now. Those 4 points can make a difference. I'll hold my breath until Nov.

Hello all.
I am sooo nervous! I am applying with 190 points for spring, and am very worried! I am currently enrolled in micro and sociology, so unfortunately, I don't have those extra points... I'm so stressed- I have 3 kids at home; ages 4, 1, and 6 wks. Luckily, my fiance works hard to take care of us so that I can go to school and be with the kids. But this is what I (we) have been working/sacrificing for, and if I don't make it in this term, I may have to consider other options...
I don't know anyone else in the program or even applying, so I am so curious to what sort of points others have/have had.
Also, I did hear it was a "lottery" as far as picking classes and times- if that's true, it kind of sucks to have to wait til the last minute to arrange plans/days for childcare!
Hey kellej! It sounds to me like you have enough points. I'm sure you've read what the cut off trend usually is (180 - 185), and I'll just bet 190 is just fine! Are you trying to go days or nights? Oh...I've applied with 202, but I can tell you that for myself, before getting all my points, I felt like if I could have at least 190, I'd be in pretty good shape.:welcome:
I am trying for the daytime program.
Then start relaxing....I'm sure you're in!
