Sorry if this post is a little superfluous, but I have to ask...

I'm having a hard time keeping track of the night/weekend January '08 folks.

Where are ya'll? There are only 24 of us in nights/weekends, but it seems like there are quite a few of us posting here....

I'm in nights/weekends, married for 10 years, with two kids who will be turning 3 & 5 in February.

PS. Study real hard when you get to adult health I a LOT of people flunked out the program due that class this semester.

I am curious, I am starting 4th term and I am curious how many people you guys lost in AH1? Who was your theory instructor? Just curious...

Just wondering if anyone already in the program has any suggestions regarding dosage calculations and has any tips about the test? I am working my way through it and just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions that may be helpful for preparing for the test.

Thanks!!!

this was my response to someone who asked about dosage calc and medical terminology a few months ago:

the independent study for 1st term dosage calculations and medical terminology is actually pretty easy, although at the time i was making a big deal/freaking out over it.

***just do what the packet says, and do the practice tests they provide and you should be good***

for me, all the problems in the text book were just additional practice;making sure i got everything down pat.

also, ms emily (the nursing tutor) provides simpler methods to solving dosage problems and what not. once you learn it her way, it is so much easier!

i made 100s on both of those tests. i also made a 100 on IV calc, if that should tell you anything. i don't think that many people failed dosage or med terms; only 4 people (from fall 2007) failed IV calc.

just to re-iterate, i seriously love the way ms. emily taught ratio and proportion -- available on left, dr's orders on right... so simple!

Thanks Miss Rochelle! I just wanted to make sure that I was on the right track!

hi all,

I am also a evening/weekender for spring 2008. I did'nt get accepted until december so I have been scrambling to get everything in my packet done. I'm not to worried about the med. term tests but the dosage calculation word problems bring back nightmares of algebra again....yuck.

I also work full time and have a 4-year old, sheesh what are we getting ourselves into?
