FCCJ Fall 2008

Published

Hello all! Just thought I'd start a thread for all of those folks that have submitted, or are getting ready to submit, their applications for FCCJ's Fall '08 term.

I will be submitting my application in a few weeks, when this Spring term ends. I have taken my NAT (twice), so I'm good to go there, but still need to get my CPR class done. I called several places & I'm waiting to hear back from them.

I look forward to chatting with & getting to know all of you, who will be doing the count-down with me... on getting our acceptance letters!!!

I know it helps to sound-board off each other & to lean on each other for support... especially with getting all the things done that we have to do!

Best of luck & success to all!!!

I've got family function that afternoon. Section 11 is pretty good so far, but we'll see on Friday how it goes. I've heard some things...

I really can't wait to start clinicals. The whole nurse thing will seem real to me then. Oh, when instructors talk about doing the questions at the end of each chapter, do they mean the NCLEX question sections? In some books, that's about all they have.

Clinical Techniques was LONNNNGGGG.

Oh goodness. But for some weird, crazy, and ridiculous reason, I liked it.

Uh ohhhhh. LoL.

:yeah: Well this week is technically over for me as far as class goes. The weekend will be a whole lot of catching up. I feel like I'm never going to catch up.:banghead: Techniques was really great for me. I love the whole "doing it" aspect of the class. Hope all of you have a great Friday. Best of luck to us all. We're gonna need it.

I found a new job...

EBAY! So far so good. LoL. The only thing I do is list the item and people bid, which means I do nothing. LoL.

Anyway, I have Pharmacology tomorrow... How was it for those who had it already?

I liked Pharm, but it seems like it will be a lot of studying. I really thought it was interesting how some many things can influence how a drug works. I somehow never thought of it that deeply before. Like I thought of body weight being an issue, but not age, ect...

Ahh I think I kinda wish I can go back to term one...though it is tough as crap, I have gotten up at 6 everyday this week. Had a test Monday, Semi-Clinical Tuesday (7-3), Clinical Orientation on Wednesday (7-3), and class today from 8-12, then another 15 minutes meeting with my clinical instructor. Ahh...I just want to sleep.

do they mean the NCLEX question sections

Yep, you need to start thinking now in terms of NCLEX questions. If you want a leg up, go to the bookstore and buy the NCLEX review book now and use that as one of your exam study tools. They pull questions (or ones very similar) from those books.

FCCJ has a 93% pass rate on the NCLEX, and you'll start hearing that more. Considering they graduate 350 or so every calendar year, that's a good figure. Its one of the highest in the state.

Actually... If you guys who have the Elseveer box, there's an NCLEX Review included.

I started reviewing the NCLEX, and I have a lot to learn.

We're done with week one! =)

I love it how you say "done" like the work part is over. Going to classes is just the easy part for me, lol!

Hahaha. So is it not done? Do we have classes tomorrow? LoL. Jk.

I really enjoyed the first week, however. I met some awesome people, and I look forward to meeting even more awesome peeps.

The loud, outspoken ones are my favorites. LoL.

Hey all my fellow nurse to be's: Sorry I havent posted on here in what seems like forever....just had to take time to get myself totally organized and trying to get myself back into the whole studying mode again. Had to clear away the cob webs from my brain!

WHEW I am already overwhelmed....but now that my last day of full time work was Thursday...I feel like I can focus ALOT more on my school work.

I did want to say that I have only gotten to meet my section (11) and some of section 12...and so far.....it seems like we have some very nice, very smart, and very resourceful people that we can all lean on when/if we need to.....I really like the teachers we have in section 11 so far...I think we are all going to have fun, tears:sniff:, enthusiasm and frustrations:banghead: for the next 16 or so months.... but WE CAN DO THIS!!!! :yeah:YAYYYY for us!!!!:nurse:

NOW GET BACK TO STUDYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey now that we can put faces to names....so who is who on here?

I am Lisa ....the dental hygienist sick of having to "give her biography in every class...lol :clown:
