Hello all! Hopefully all of you out there accepted to the Fall 2009 RN program at FCCJ will join me on this thread so we can help each other out. I went today to get my pants and found some of the white ones (come in petites and tall with flared legs and slits to fit over our shoes, Cherokee brand, $13.99) at Uniform Outlet at the St Augustine outlet mall. They also carry the pocket organizers (with flat scissors and pen light included), stethoscope (inexpensive ones, so they may not be of the quality you are looking for) and all the BP cuff things we need.

I am waiting until orientation to order my polo and uniformed top so that we may be able to try them on. Does anyone know what is included in the skills kit and if they will be available at orientation?

I am getting excited and can't wait to meet everyone!

Assessment is not on my blackboard yet. I hope my classes will be on there by the end of the week so I can everything prepared.

I went to blackboard and printed off all important documents for Health Assesment and Techniques and I have a pile of paper!!!! Am I the only one having a problem with the powerpoints cause they do not show past slide 1? BTY How is everyone coming along with the D. Calc and Med. Term?:typing

I had the same problem with the ppt slides.I don't know if this is going to make sense but it worked for me. What I did was when I clicked on the file, I hit browse to choose which program to use to open the file. Then I manually chose the power point viewer for it and brought it up like I was editing it. I am not sure why it didn't work just by having it automatically open with the ppt. It made it so I can print them.

I think I am ok somewhat on the med term but not sure yet on the dosing. I feel like I am forgetting something. I printed out everything needed so far for pharm, concepts and assessments so thats a plus but I think I am going to spend the entire weekend reading the 9 chapters between all 3 classes on top of the med term and dosing. So let the fun begin.. LOL

:redbeatheMy pharm or my concepts have posted anything yet. The pharm class is there but there is no info. As far as my Assesment class its only two chapters and I havent seen anything for my techniques class but maybe I should try to pull up the powerpoints. I hope everyone else is getting a head start on this reading so no one gets left behind I want to see us all make it in the end. By the way I am in section 12! :yeah:

i got it to work!!!thanks i thought i was the only one but i guess you will have to manually do it in order to view it!!!!!:D

None of my classes are on Blackboard yet and I'm starting to get frustrated. Thankfully I had to go to campus yesterday and saw the schedule for Pharmacology so I know what chapters to go ahead and start reading. But I would like for all my classes to be posted on blackboard so that I get the syllabi and everything else I need. Maybe my teachers are just slower than everyone elses.

the only class that is up on my blackboard is health assesment so I have been reading that...what chp do we need to read for pharm??

Im not sure if it matters about the section because I am in 12. For Assesment is chapters 4 &5; Techniques chapters 1, 3 &6!! Powerpoints for both classes have to be printed and brought to class the first day.

My techniques isn't up yet but I am in section 1. Week one for concepts is read chapters 1 and 8. Pharm is read chapters 1,2,3,10, & 11. Assessment is reading chapters 4 & 5

Anyone log into the Evolve program yet? I just got the passwords via e-mail, but have yet to check it out. Also, anyone heard anything about the Med Terminology test? I feel like there is a TON of information to learn and I am not sure what to focus on!

med term test is 50 q's mult choice...it shouldnt be to hard at all as long as you know like the word root and how it combines...if you know the flashcards u can put any word together. What book is used for concepts, pharm and techniques?? that is a **** ton of reading is that all we have to read b4 the class?
