FCCA CURRENT INFO

Published

:yeah::yeah:I just registered for the FCCA, and the info I received was that the last day to register for the "paper" version is May 18 2011. After this date, it will be on computer versiion. Just thought I would share for those that are getting close. The computer version is $390 I believe and can has three parts that will have to be done at a Pearsonvue testing center. I also think that there are only certain months out of the year that students will be able to register/take the exam. So good luck to all, and if you additional questions about this then I would suggest contacting Excelsior directly. Hope this helps!

Whoa!!!! Thanks for posting this!! I have LS1, 2 & 3 as well as transitions! I am taking LS1 next week, so I need to definately stay on track!! My Pearson Center is 100 miles away, and it costs me a day lost in wages to have to travel that far. How long does it take Excelsior to notifiy you that your are FCCA eligable? Super Kudos for posting the info! Good luck and Congrats on your accomplishment!!

Thank you for the info. Although I have only completed Health Safety, I would definitely want to be FCCA eligible by May 18th. Will have to study much harder and more often to get a shot at the paper form. Oh well.....

honestly, i do not know how excelsior can put this exam in computer version. it is a very subjective exam. they've been saying it will go online "soon" for a couple years now.

but good info anyhow. this might just be the push some students need to finish quick! :D

OMG I need to hurry myself up. I have Chronicity on 3/8, Reproductive on 3/29 and hoping to squeeze in LS1 and LS2 in April.... first week of May for LS2 at the latest...

How long does it take after you finish the last nursing exam before you can register for the FCCA?

I guess I better hit the books

Recently completed the FCCA. Once I finish last exam, and the official evaluation was updated, I got a message that I was FCCA eligible and also eligible to apply for CPNE. I was anxious to get started, LOL, so I called them a few times checking on it, so I got my message and update within a week. But they said it usually takes around two weeks for your records to be updated, and get notification of eligibility.

Obviously you have to complete the FCCA to take the CPNE, but it has taken me a couple weeks to gather documents needed for CPNE. So I am glad I was able to see the application and start gathering my picture, physical, etc, needed to apply for CPNE and not have to wait until after I applied for and finished the FCCA.

Hope my experience helps..

Okay, so if EC is saying that the deadline for FCCA will be May 18, 2011 then we better aim for our exams to be done by the last week of April to allow for a few weeks to update things? Okay, I have been in my books for 14 hours today, lol!!! You mentioned picture, physical....etc....what is etc? I read somewhere that you needed your immunizations record? How does one get a copy?! I have no idea where my childhood vaccination records are. Sorry to be off topic guys :o

I remember when I started at the hospital, I called my pediatrician's office, I was 18 at the time, and asked for my shot records. The lady laughed at me! You can probably just get titers drawn, that's what I've always done since I don't have records. I know for my hospital you have to have proof of MMR, Varicella, Hep B, IPV and TDaP, as well as current influenza (if it's flu season) and a PPD/Fit test every year... so it's probably something similar to that.

Loops we will get there, let's keep each other motivated!! I am in the same boat :-)

For CPNE you need a physical form completed by your Dr. Section on there for your immunizations, I had blood drawn for my "immunization record", titers were done. . I needed this a couple years ago for school. Found out I needed MMR!

You got it, Beachnurse....I didn't do a thing but study all weekend long (minus walk the dog, lol) I really don't want to do FCCA in 2 or 3 exams, needing to take the time off from work and lose wages etc. I try and test when my surgeons have endocsopies only or are gone, so it is tough. I have had titers drawn many times (only needed one Hep B). Maybe I can either just use those previously drawen or get them drawn again.
