Hi! I've been an RN for about 3 years. I've worked in med/surg most of that time but now am working in a cardiovascular lab. Its way less stressful but doesn't seem challenging enough for me. I was wondering if others had ideas for what nursing job they've really enjoyed.

Thanks!

Pedi Oncology. Challenging but very rewarding.

MICU!

Granted, I have only worked MICU... but I have worked in four of them so far. A lot of people don't like the "nursing home ICU" aspect - that just about everybody is a 70+ nursing home resident with COPD, DM, and heart failure who came in septic from a UTI or PNA - but I like the complex nature of their medical needs and figuring out exactly which of their 15,000 diagnoses in their past medical history is causing the problem I'm seeing now. I have no desire to leave the MICU yet. :)

Specializes in Pediatrics, Critical Care.
