Do you have favorite apps that you use to estimate a woman's due date, look up meds, perform drug calculations, help with triage leveling, etc...?
Or...can you even have your phone available on the unit to use as a resource?
Thanks for your insight!

I found one I use for codes called Tidy Resus, it's free in the Apple app store. It's very easy to use and intuitive: it's a code timer/metronome that has separate clocks for compressions and epi. It also logs rhythms and drugs given into a nice report for back charting.
Euro-Sepsis~
Sounds like a cool app. THANK YOU so much for sharing. I will definitely check it out.

Medscape is my crush. It is the fastest way to get drug information. There is no prohibition on me having my phone on me. I also have the NHS Stroke Scale app, which again is the fastest way to reference and calculate a stroke scale.

No phones allowed.
Due dates, it is in the triage form and there is a "calculator" function in the software that does it.
For meds, if it is an ordered med, we can right click on it and it brings up a reference for it with all kinds of info.
If not on the MAR, we have access to an online drug site (don't remember the site off hand).
For codes, a piece of paper and a clock are all I need.
Phones are a big negative feedback item on Press Ganey, patients and families all think your texting or playing on them, regardless of if your using them as actual tools. We have enough problems with people complaining about nurses and doctors "playing" on the computers all the time.

In my experience I completely agree about the appearance of the phone coming before the patient. Just curious for my own knowledge what apps are out there, who is using them, and/or who CAN use them. Thanks for your input! Much appreciated!

One of the Attendings I worked with got this app up and running for my Peds ED. Great for checking max doses for peds also a great reference for NG tubes, foley's, etc... It's commonly used in my ED.

My 2nd go to app is
http://Pedi STAT by QxMD Medical Software https://appsto.re/us/_lfJt.i
I primary use this app to calculate MIVF for burn patients. One of the limitation of Pedi STAT is the cut off of weight based calculation after 50kg.
