This is a great question for the school, itself (how GPA is calculated). Requirements for various nursing programs change frequently, so even someone with past experience may have inaccurate information. And in competitive entry programs, your chances may vary semester to semester just depending on who else applies ...even if the requirements haven't changed.

Hello nurses and future nurses,
Currently I have one more semester of prerequisites before I can apply to nursing school. My top choice is Fau since it is close by me and not as expensive as Nova. Nova and MDC are my backup plan. I love that Nova offers BSN but hate the price tag and with MDC I would have to get my ADN first then get the BSN. I would do MDC as a last resort because I feel like no one will hire an ADN in a hospital these days, everyone wants BSN which I completely understand. My GPA from my bachelors degree wasnt the best but this semester I have 3 A's and 1 B. I know that this semester and next as long as i get nothing under a B+, my combined Gpa from my bachelors at FIU and my prerequisites from MDC will be a 3.56. I know they take the GPA from Nursing Cas but i was wondering if FAU looks at the overall GPA from the bachelors or just the prerequisites. If they only look at the science and prerequisite gpa im in good standing, if they look at the overall gpa of the bachelors then im screwed. FAU is my top choice and I would hate to not get in because when i went to FIU i wasnt focused.
Sorry for the long life story.
