FAU Accelerated BSN Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I'm applying to FAU for the accelerated program beginning spring 2018. I made this thread to ask my own questions and so other people can do the same.

Anyone else taking classes this summer concerned that the deadlines been moved up? How am I supposed to get my application verified in a week if summer grades are posted Aug 9th and the new deadline is Aug 18th?

I got in! They just sent me an invitation of preliminary acceptance and that the final acceptance will happen after background checks and fingerprints. The info for that to come in a separate email in a couple weeks! I interviewed on 9/26. Good luck to everyone out there!

How is everyone doing with the CB to-do list? I have most things completed. I am in the process of my immunizations. I'm hoping I don't need all 3 shots of Hep B before the start of classes. I will only have two and I need to wait to get my third shot.

Also, do we need to submit our immunizations/immunization form to FAU even though we are doing everything through Castle Branch?

Hi everyone!

For those of you who just got accepted into the program, how did you prepare for the interview? Is it still a group interview? How are their interview questions formatted? I wasn't able to apply for this year's program due to my pregnancy, so I'll be applying next year. Any advice from you guys would be great!

Hi Christine! I am assuming we have to submit the immunizations forms to FAU itself as well after that email they sent. I am trying to get everything checked off the CB to-do list but the HIPAA Form states we have read the given material, however I am not seeing that material on the FAU website. Did you find that info or just sign/upload the form?

I will be applying to this program next year! For those of you got in can you tell us

1) What was your gpa from your first degree?

2) Your science prereqs gpa?

3) Your TEAS score?

4) How you felt you did in the interview?

Any and all advice would be appreciated. I know how competitive the program is and what to give myself the best possible chance of being accepted. Thank you!!!

I would like to know this as well. I plan to apply in the Fall of 2018

Hey! Can you tell me your stats? I want to see if my grades are good enough to get in. Thanks!

Hi! Did you end up applying this year?

Hey! I'm interested in applying and have about the same gpa and test score. Did you get in? Did you don't mind me asking.

Hi STnurse14- I am interviewing this month for the program... Is there any advice that you would give to prepare for the interview? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

Hi there! Good luck to everyone in the application process. Here is my experience about the interview:

10-minute interview for everyone, they tell you right before you begin and ask you not to ask questions at the end. The four questions they asked were;

1. Why did you decide to change careers and why nursing?

2.Why FAU?

3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

4. Tell me about a time you went out of your way to help someone or something like this.

Now, FAU does not ask for your volunteer experience or an easy talking about you as an individual who made the interview even more intimidating because it is quite difficult to truly make yourself stand out by answering these simple general questions. You are not allowed to get out of topic or extend too much.

Just practice your answers, two people are interviewing you who hardly try to make you feel comfortable.

GOOD LUCK :)

Hey! Anyone on here end up going to the accelerated program at FAU? I applied and wanted to get some feedback. Are the lectures online/pre-recorded? or do you have to go to lecture class every day? Just figuring out how much time you actually need to be on campus for classes (not including study groups etc.)

And any other feedback on the program that you can provide. Thank you guys!
