FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

Okay, I will keep checking my FAU email then. I'm so nervous over here. I wonder if they are going in order of last names. Hmm, of course mine starts with a "w". The good news is the invites are going out, so we all should know one way or the other by the end of the night. Fingers crossed.

I'm not currently enrolled in any classes, but if I were you, I would bring an unofficial copy of your transcript showing your classes you are currently enrolled in.

Check your NursingCAS profile and see what email you provided on there... That's the one that they will send the email to. For me it's my personal email

No interview email at this point so anticipating not the news I was hoping for.... Has anyone on here received a decline email? Just wondering if those are being sent out as well.

I haven't received one yet either :-( I'm still hoping that they are just sending the acceptances out sporadically by appointment time, as it seems like a lot of the acceptances are for very early appointments. No denial email either, so let's still hold out hope!

I haven't received an email yet either. I called the admissions office earlier this week and it was my understanding that there won't be rejection emails going out. You either get an email or you don't. In saying that...I too hope they are still working on sending out emails. Good luck to everyone!
