FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

Ouch. That's going to be very pricey indeed. Especially with all the cancellations and delays from the weather this week. I wish you best of luck! Still haven't heard anything yet either. I'm wondering if they are going to go out late tonight like the traditional track, or if it will be delayed.

If you receive an interview meeting letter does it mean you are accepted into the program or is it another step toward admission. Thank for your replies.

An interview is just one more step. They are interviewing 80 applicants for the accelerated track (not sure about the traditional) and then it sounds like they accept around 40!

It's what I thought too, so it looks like we will compete with each other at the interview. I am not sure if I am good at competing (actually I am very bad at competing as I come from a culture in which community is the rule), even less at interviews. Good luck everybody cause we will need a lot if this was the case.

Don't worry Quendi, frankly, with a master, high GPA and an even higherTEAS score you don't have any chance in the world not to receive an interview! You must be scheduled in a different time frame. Good luck!
