FAU 2014 ABSN applicants

I haven't seen a thread directed at applicants for this application cycle, so I figured I'd start one! Just one month left until applications open. Who's ready? :) I figure we can meet here to discuss any questions or issues with applications, provide support and feedback to fellow applicants, as well as introduce ourselves as potential future classmates! Communication is, after all, critical for all nurses.

I actually have a question to start us off. The pre-requisites listed for the program mention "College Algebra or equivalent" for science GPA calculations. In my case, I took a few more advanced mathematics courses for my degree, and I have a better grade in Calculus than I do in College Algebra. I can only chalk it up to it being my first semester in college. Does anyone know if they will count my Calc grade instead? It means the difference between a 3.8 and 3.9 for my science GPA.

Did the Valentines Day email go to your all's FAU email or personal? I didn't get one..although I get bombarded with FAU Undergraduate Admissions emails on a regular basis.

Thanks, kcmcnally. Has anyone on here who applied to the ABSN heard anything yay or nay? Seems like all the posts I saw here from people applying traditional or who didn't specify...

Did any of the ABSN applicants get an interview letter yet? I received the same Valentine card from the office of undergraduate admission. I knew it was not the Email as these are two different admissions, but still... Hang in there and plan for you Valentine instead of making it the longest Valentine's day. I talk :)

I'm an ABSN applicant. Nothing here yet. I'm curious if they are doing different interview times. Any other traditional applicants get an interview time besides 1pm?

Dr. D has been invaluable to the FAU CoN. I understand that everyone is stressed and that makes our patience wear rather thin, but we have to understand that they are doing everything they can to ensure this process is streamlined and fair. As Dr. D stated, it is a numbers game, and if they are sending out individual emails, then that is 160 applicants that need to be contacted today for interviews. I can't imagine how long that must take.

Why would they send out individual emails, not just batch interview and batch rejection letters?

I am thinking interview times may be staggered into groups. So they may have a 1pm group, 1:30 group, and so on. May take longer. Just a guess though.

So glad I just found this page... I've been stressing out all day, checking my email every few minutes. ABSN applicant as well, still no word. Anyone else hear anything yet? I really hope we know before the end of the day because I live in New England and to buying a last minute plane ticket is going to be so expensive! Yikes
