I am new here and I just have a couple of questions about FAMU's nursing program. I have an AA from BCC pre nursing,now I am currently attending FIU taking 2 classes. I am applying for the spring semester, I already got into the school now I amj ust getting everything together for the nursing program. So, if you applied to that school and got in please reply back to this. Here are my question
1) I know we have to set up an interview but im confused, do I need to do that before the deadline for the nursing application, or after?
2) Ihave the 3 letters of recommendation but I read somewhere on here that we need to write an essay too. I dont recall that.
Well, we will know if we got into famu in december. Someone I know who is on the program now and was in since January did not know she was accepted until decmber 24, 2008. So I'm guessing I have to wait around that time also which sucks for the wait ;(

Hey, how have you been? I forgot to tell u that I called FAMU on Monday to ask questions that I already knew that wasn't going to get answered. But I tried, I guess we have to wait. They only answered one thing,I asked them " if you get accepted or rejected would we be able to tell from the envelope that we are going to receive" she said no. You know how when applying to Univeristy if you get in,you get a big envelope and if you get rejected you get a small regular envelope? she said we won't be able to tell.HMMMMM

I am about to graduate in Spring 2010! The road was long and rough, but it's almost here!! To answer your questions, I don't recall doing an interview... if you live in the area, stop by from time to time to let them know your face. You do have to write an essay using the guidelines posted on the website. You will get a background check upon being accepted into the program. The program is good, but imo more difficult than it needs to be primarily because of the dis-organization. You'll see what I mean For instance, you will probably get a phone call like a week or two before the semester begins telling you that you were accepted, then you'll be told when orientation is, where you will be surprised with the expectation to come up with ~$400 for uniforms and supplies in less than a week.
