Anybody applying to FAMU's nursing program for the spring?

Wow, I just noticed that this thread has already reached over 500 views. I wonder if the site records Ip addresses to calculate this number. I'm sure that some applicants maybe using different computers when viewing this site..that's something to think about. To the new-comers and re-applicants don't be shy lol. We're all in the same boat, so feel free to join the discussion. Let's liven up this thread and feed off each other. You may find out some valuable information by asking questions.

Hey, my name is Mark, I'm applying to Famu nursing for the spring. I also applied to TCC and Chipola. Does anyone know if you NEED letters of rec to apply to the program? I'm applying from a community college and its hard to contact past teachers. I'm just wondering.

You absolutely do... 2 professors and 1 personal (mentor/church/work) people get denied all the time without it so definitely get it Mark

Thanks, just wanna make sure. The letters from professors are the only things I need to finish.

Does anyone know when they'll start sending rejection letters and calling for interviews?

For fall, it took about a month for them to call for interviews, and rejection letters went out right after interview calls.

For Fall apps were due 5/15

Verification emails got sent 5/22

just stating they received our applications

Rejection email came 7/2 along with ppl who got interviews that was same date either 7/1-7/3

Formal acceptance and rejections came 8/12

Ok, so that's about 2-3 months. I'm a transfer student so when (cause i have faith) i get into the program. I have less than a week to relocate. Is anyone else dealing with that issue?

You also have to be ready to have $700 upfront the day after being accepted. She said about $375 for background checks and other stuff after getting accepted and the rest for uniforms and things like that.

can you guys all leave your stats ( gpa )

Honestly that won't even make a difference posting stats im way more realistic having reapplied it's the luck of the draw when it comes to gaining access I know ppl with great stats that were rejected compared to mediocre

I had that same issue. Luckily I had a sister who lived here.

I know some students who signed a lease not necessarily knowing they got accepted and they just had faith and it worked out in their favor. There are plenty of apartments here so it shouldn't be an issue to find a place. It's just, you're going to be overloaded and thinking about plenty of other stuff when (of course) you get accepted.

Good Luck!
