Nurse: Hi Doctor my patient is throwing IV poles, urine and feces at us. He is also threatening to kill us. Can we have an order for restraints? Doctor: I don't think that would be in the patient's best interest. Restraints should be a last resort. Have you tried therapeutic communication? How about we use a sitter instead? Nurse: ....*blank stare*.... Doctor: ....blank stare.... Nurse: ....... Doctor: ........ Sitter: .........

Me: Son? Son: Yes? Me: I am going to take Lucky outside now. With all this farting Lucky is doing, he is liable to take out your new wife. Son: **sniffs sniffs** mom, I agree. Hurry before it spreads. ***Son, closes the delivery room door and returns to his wife*** Me: **smirks** I don't always fart in public, but when I do, I always remember to blame it on the dog.

The look that everyone gives that one coworker who keeps asking questions that makes the meeting go over the allotted time.

I was also granted an interview. I am so excited-and nervous.

@Quimara22 CNA definitely counts. Growing up, I wanted to be a Family Physician, but as I grew older nursing appeared to be a better fit. I too desired the emotional and physical connection that many nurses share with their patients. Oh, I have my CNA license as well.

I‘m just curious. Do any of you have experience in health care? Did you always want to be a nurse?

Hi Neonate! Welcome to the discussion. To answer your question, not including your high school transcript could definitely hurt your chances of getting in. The committee may look at it as you not being able to follow directions. By any chance, does your other transcript(s) show that you took foreign language in high school. For Instance, considering that I was a dual enrollment student, my college transcript shows that I took the required foreign language even though I was in high school. I would say try to bring it in anyway. Who knows what will happen. I will say this you should get that in ASAP. The more you wait the worst it looks for you.

@Preddy J, CNA Thanks for returning to the site to answer some of our questions. My first question is about classes. What classes are you taking?Also, could you tell us about any interesting experiences that you've had this semester as a nursing student. One last thing, how are the instructor's teaching styles and personalities. Past and current nursing students are also welcome to answer these questions.

Wow, I just noticed that this thread has already reached over 500 views. I wonder if the site records Ip addresses to calculate this number. I'm sure that some applicants maybe using different computers when viewing this site..that's something to think about. To the new-comers and re-applicants don't be shy lol.
