Hello Everyone! Happy New Yearrrr

Yeah, I thought so too! I feel like this can go any way and that it strongly depends on the essay and the interview. Sounds like we're in pretty much the same place though so hopefully we'll get in :)

Omg does anyone one know when the interviews will be held? I am just so nervous and excited:nailbiting:

I applied also and now I'm just nervous and checking all emails everything!! I want to know now!

Hello!!

My name is Erin S. And I too was your shoes just last year! I'm a 2nd semester nursing student at famu & I used this awesome website to communicate with other applicants. I wanted to reach back and help you guys because I wish it was done for me. So, any questions that you all have I will try to answer as best as I can. Pray & KEEP CALM!! Getting in is the EASY part!

Hey Erin, how is the program so far?

My 1st semester was very challenging! I had several break downs but I made it. It's exhausting. Many days I got to school around 7am and didn't leave the library until 10 at night. Then I would go home and study until 2 am. I will not sugar coat anything. I think that was my downfall..people weren't honest. Be prepared to read, study, and think non-stop. If you're accustomed to 50 min classes like I was, be prepared for 4 hour classes w/ few breaks.

I saw a few posts about previous students GPAs. You're GPA is only one of several things that will be considered. Just because you have a 3.5+ GPA doesn't mean you have the upper hand or if you have a 2.7 GPA it doesn't mean you don't have a chance. They do look at everything & they are very fair. I know several great students who were admitted with under a 3.0.

Thanks so much for all the advice. I hope and pray I get in!! I heard you don't know your in till 2 weeks before. Is that true cause I live in Miami and that's a big move short notice.

I am so nervous :(

Has anyone heard from the school regarding whether or not the have received our application. or do they not send that ?

No not yet. Hopefully we'll hear something by the end of the week.

I completely agree with Erin. I'm applying this semester as well and I've been told a lot of stories from nursing students I know. There have been students with 3.5+ who've applied 2-3 times and still haven't gotten in. Also, this guy told me about his friend who gotten in with a 3.8 and became overwhelmed with the work and changed her major that same semester. I'm just putting my eggs in one basket despite the semester I had. I really hope I get in!! I'm ready for the sleepless nights in Coleman, exhaustion, and whatever else comes my way because it definitely will be worth it in the long run. I really can't see myself doing anything else. I wish everyone luck!!!

Hey Erin,

Thank you so much that is so kind of you. I actually was looking at the comments last year and was so happy for you and medicinegirl lol. But my question is how long did you have to wait before you got the (email or call?) for an interview and how was the questioning process? I am aplying for Fall 2014. Keep me in your prayers lol
