Family Feud question today.....

Published

During my lunch break I was watching Family Feud.

The question:

"What profession is designed to make you feel good?" -not exact wording but pretty close.

8 answers. #2 being physician-they answered that one right away.

The #1 answer was........NURSE:nurse:-no one got the answer.......it was revealed at the end along with hairstylist.....

Thoughts on why we have slipped out of the thoughts of people's minds as able to help people and make them feel good???

Well, if you're healthy and you haven't been in a hospital then its not likely that you'd think of a nurse.

I think the "#1" answer on the Feud is based on poll results--so, maybe the "feuding families" aren't thinking "Nurse=feel good" but it WAS the most popular answer in the general survey.

I haven't watched FF for about a decade, so I don't know if the rules have changed, but if not me thinks nurses are actually at the top of the list :)

FF was on in our break room so I was fortunate enough to watch today.

It just was interesting that they would say "psychic"(not on the list of 8) and say physician right off the bat but not nurse.....

Might it be that in the era of "CUSTOMER SERVICE" we are not seen as helpers but as servers?????????????????????

Well, at least out of the 100 people surveyed, we got the top answer! The families on TV are obviously morons. :p

#1 should have been prostitute!

Specializes in PICU, NICU, L&D, Public Health, Hospice.

hhhmmm...

ok...so the 10 people representing 2 families didn't get it...but the majority in the poll did...

I guess we are the "official" feel good profession.

I watched a different episode of Family Feud the other night and one of the questions was "Name a profession that you wouldn't want to joke around at work" (or something close to that). The #1 answer was Doctors/Nurses (we got lumped together for that one).

I couldn't help but laugh, and my husband did too. His comment was something like nurses have the darkest humor of all, if people only knew... My thought was how else could we survive this?

It sort of reminded me of something that another nurse said to me once, that we might be all sweet and professional in the rooms and the hallways, but stepping into a nurse's station is like stepping onto a pirate ship!
