Hi everybody?
i figured I start the next round for the Fall 2020 semester for SCCC Nursing! ?
Who else is applying? And what’s your TEAS/Rubric score?
Hello all. I graduated from the Suffolk LPN program and I'm in my 1st of 3 semesters of the bridge program at Suffolk. I'm also available for questions. I highly recommend the LPN program if you do not get accepted into traditional RN. This time around my TEAS was 80 and rubric was in the 70s. I got in without having taken micro and so did some of my classmates but I recommend taking it before the program. I honestly have had an amazing experience with this program and highly recommend it. I am on the Grant campus. Clinical this semester is Pilgrim for mental health and Brookhaven for med surg. In the LPN program I did med surg 2 at Eastern Long Island Hospital, fundamentals at Consolation nursing home and maternity at St. Cats. In order to somewhat choose where you are going you have to register for that section but its subject to change. Other choices this semester included State vets home, Stonybrook hospital, gerwin nursing home and Southside. Clinicals are one day a week and the hours vary but are 8-2, or 8-5 or similar to that.

Hi! My experience has been absolutely amazing. I came into the program with no prior healthcare experience or knowledge, and have learned an unbelievable amount in my two years! The professors are great, and want you to succeed. The workload is not easy by any means but it is so worth it and makes you a better student. My clinical experience has also been phenomenal! There are always opportunities to perform skills and assessments, and you learn a lot from not only your clinical instructor but the nurses on the floor. Each semester, you’ll find yourself more comfortable in clinical and performing more skills. You will be able to choose your clinical site. When you register for classes, you will be able to choose any section that you want/that fits your schedule, and each section will have a different hospital assigned to it. Stony Brook clinicals are available but usually fill up first, so you have to act quickly as soon as registration opens! Clinical is one day per week, and hours depend on the course. Fundamentals was 8-2 I believe, mental health was 8-5:45, and my current semester (Med Surg 2) is 7am-4pm. I hope this was helpful and let me know if you have any more questions ?
