Has anyone received an email yet about the fingerprinting and other information from Kanora Jackson?
At the orientation in June at North Lake she said to keep an eye out for emails from them this summer. I think just with some extra information and steps to get fingerprints and drug testing done before we start in the Fall.
Thanks
HI all,
No email yet, but when I went to eConnect this morning I was already registered for my RNSG classes, and I just paid my bill, which included about $20 in insurance. The two courses show up on eCampus as well, but nothing under Community.
I'm getting excited! gonna read eCampus.
See y'all soon!
Richard
I haven't gotten anything from Kanora, but I did get an email from Dr. Branscome with information about RNSG1423 as follows:
In Course Documents on eCampus check-out the classroom schedule. You will have class on Mon.(Sec.5110) or Thurs.(Sec. 5120). There will be Orientation at ECC all day Tue.(Aug. 25), Wed.(Aug. 26), and Thurs.(Aug. 27)of the first week of classes. Regular classes will not begin until Aug. 31. Good luck and program yourself for success!
Hope this helps!

Hi Chickpea,
We got an email from Kanora about a stethoscope sale by the SNA, but today the SNA Community posting says it's been cancelled. Should we all be thinking about getting new stethoscopes, or is the WalMart one I got for HPRS1204 sufficient for now? I've been reading about the Littmans but wonder whether we actually need anything good before clinicals start 7 weeks into the term? Any recommendations?
Thanks!
Richard
Richard, You will need a better one. I'm not sure how much the SNA sells them for. They sell the Littman, I want to say it was $60 and they only have black. I bet they will offer them at the 3 day orientation next week. I think the walmart one will work for skills (You'll have a checkoff for physical assessment in skills) but I'd get a new one before clinicals start.
Personally, and I say personally because everyone is different, I have never owned a Littman and made it through 3 semesters of clinicals just fine. i can't remember the name of the one that I have, I think it's made by sprague and it has double tubing (lots of colors to choose from). i've seen them at almost every scrub store and they are only 15-20 bucks. Like RN2B, the walmart one will cut it for check offs because the instructor is more concerned with your placement (midclavicular 5th intercostal space for apical, 4 quads for bowel sounds, bilat checking of breath sounds, etc.) than what you hear. use your walmart steth on a loved one ....can you hear the heart ok? breath sounds? bowel sounds? try listening again through a shirt? can you still hear ok? if you can, then you might not need to get another one.
btw, did i mention that i lost my steth 2nd semester during labor and delivery. i probably would have been really ****** if i had spent a lot of money on it. just my 2 cents.
hope this helps,
chickpea
Hey guys! Anyone know what we should bring to orientation besides pen, paper, etc.? I wonder if we need to print any of the papers requiring signatures? I am thinking we have to pay for our fingerprints-is this wrong? I am tempted to email Ms.Kanora but I have emailed her so much, she is probable sick of me-lol:heartbeat:nurse::heartbeat

Hi mom 35, I think that the problem is that not many people knows about this class, I found it by just by accident. I hope that more people can get into the class, since I prefer to take this class before we start the classes. At least we will have an idea about care plans. Later on, we will not have any time to take extra classes. I hope that when Kanora register us, they can publish this class.
