Fall 2020 Mountain View Nursing Program Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to start a new thread for Fall 2020 applicants at Mountain View, since I didn't find one already here. Let's see if we can help eachother out and answer some questions for eachother. Currently, I have 35 points, but will be applying with about 40, I believe. I'm wondering if that is competitive? Also, I need to get my physical, titers, and vaccines, but don't have health insurance. Any ideas where I can get them done at a decent price? I found a website but I am not sure if they will accept stuff from there....

Hello everyone, when you all got your acceptance email. Did yall send a confirmation of acceptance back. I haven't received an email since that one. I know in pass semesters they ask you to send a email back confirming you are still interested. I'm just making sure I haven't missed an email.

I was thinking the same thing! Don’t know if we were supposed to reply, but I didn’t. I haven’t gotten anymore emails.

Oh okay glad to know I'm not the only one. I didn't reply either because it didn't say we had to. But I was a little worried we hadn't heard anything since that last email. But I do understand its alot going on right now. So I will continue to be patient?

I need help. I’m trying to figure out which program to go to in the fall. El centro or Mountain View? I want to go to Mountain View. I just want to make sure I make the right decision. Can someone help me?

Did you weigh out the pros and cons of each program? Like reputation, NCLEX pass rates, distance from home, costs, etc.? You have to pick what’s best for you. You shouldn’t leave that responsibility to anyone else. Only you know what is best for you. You may be able to contact students who are currently in both programs and ask about their experiences but keep in mind that it’s THEIR experience. You may not have the same experience as they do. Whatever program you choose, you’re still going to have to work hard and prove to yourself that you deserve to be there.

I know, I’m just confused. I want to go to Mountain View of course. I just want to make sure it is the right decision. I was not leaving my decision to anyone, I just thought someone might leave a comment about each program that might can help me.

I agree with I.AM.ABLE

You should look at for both schools:

  • Curriculum for each semester
  • The cost of each semester
  • Location of the campus
  • NCLEX passing rates
One thing that was a huge plus for me for MVC was that they have a concurrent program with Texas Tech El Paso, which is the RN to BSN and the transition over would be seamless along with finishing two of their classes before even starting the program and it's all online.
These are just a few things to look at. But the decision is totally up to you. This is your nursing school experience and you should not let anyone make that decision for you.

Hello has anyone received an official acceptance letter for Fall 2020 at MVC?

Yes. The acceptance letters went out the first week of April. I believe they created a facebook group where all the accepted applicants are at. That's why there isn't much activity here.

Hi everyone

I'm also a student at Mountain View. I'm returning since 2018. Good thing I did all of my prerequisites plus 2 supporting classes before I had to stop going. All I have to do now is take the HESIa2 and I think I may take Micro. My GPA is 2.875 right now and you only need 2.75 to apply. Has anyone taken the HESI or Micro at any dcccd schools?

I'm taking micro right now with Tammy Oliver, online! It's been easy so far with lots of extra credit!

For applying for Mountain View Nursing program, for the interview, what essay is it going to be? Is it going to be persuasive, informative, narrative, or argumentative? How long should the essay be? Also for the interview are the questions are like a background check? For instance, what are your goals? or what kind of questions will there be during the interview.

Thank you in advance
